The project explores the ethical and psychological impact of drone warfare, where technology distances us from the human reality of violence. Inspired by Grégoire Chamayou’s Theory of the Drone, it examines how drones transform killing into a mediated, abstract process, reducing it to a disconnected and depersonalised act, removing personal risk, obscuring accountability and empathy.
The installation uses digital camouflage and drone footage from the war in Ukraine to juxtapose destruction with stark detachment, inviting viewers to adopt the drone’s perspective while hiding under the camouflage.
